Toyota Blind Spot Monitoring Technology

Toyota Blind Spot Monitoring Technology

We at Magic Toyota would like to take a quick moment to let you know about the available Toyota's Blind Spot Monitoring technology. This feature comes on many models, and its innovation aids in keeping you and your family safer on the road. We warmly invite you to read more and stop by to learn about Toyota's Blind Spot Monitoring technology.

The Blind Spot Monitoring technology works in a simultaneously simple and advanced way. To activate, simply press the “BSM” button to the left of the steering wheel. An indicator light will appear along with an alerting tone. In the event that a vehicle enters your blind spot without your knowledge, an indicator light will appear in your mirror (side view), and if you signal to get in the other vehicle’s lane, the light will flash to get your attention.

Another facet of Toyota's Blind Spot Monitoring technology involves the Rear Cross Traffic Alert system. This aids you when you are attempting to back into or out of a parking space. If your Toyota is in reverse and traveling less than five miles per hour, the system will detect cars approaching between five and 18 mph from the right or left of your vehicle. If traffic is sensed, you will be warned by a flashing in the side mirror and a warning tone. Worth noting is that these systems are designed as an aid, and you are advised to maintain awareness even if your Toyota is equipped with these features.

Other safety features on many Toyota models include antilock brakes, front and rear head airbags, dual front side-mounted airbags, child seat anchors, emergency braking assist, ventilated front disc/rear drum brakes, daytime running lights, rear door child safety locks, five headrests, a passenger airbag occupant sensing deactivation, a rear center three-point belt, turn signal mirrors, front seatbelt pretensioners, traction and stability control, electronic brakeforce distribution, height adjustable headrests, a head restraint whiplash protection system for both driver and passenger, a first aid kit, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Also worth mentioning is the fact that the many models are equipped with energy-absorbing crumple zones that divert energy away from the passenger compartment in the event of a collision.
